                   Notre Dame Catholic  School

              Welcome to Pre-School

appleWelcome to Mrs. Bobillo's Pre-School Page

I am a 1977 graduate of Notre Dame Grade School, a 1981 graduate of Marquette High School and a 1986  graduate of Purdue University.  Along with my husband Doug, (Marquette High School Class of 1973) we have five children - Joe, Jack, Hank, Beth and Mary Kate - four Notre Dame Grade School alumni and one current Notre Dame student.

In a community of Catholic faith, our mission is to provide kind and loving care in a developmentally appropriate environment along with a curriculum that empowers children to develop a positive self image and a love of learning while maintaining Gospel values.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Please pay close attention to Catholic Schools Week Agenda

Our Thankful November...

We had a wonderful month!  The Pre-School Family celebrated Thanksgiving in style.  We started off the  month with   creating a menu for our feast, it consisted of turkey (chicken leg), mashed potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce, corn bread and butter.  To drink we had cider and milk and Mrs. Lee was in charge of the dessert.  Instead of the class making everything we decided to have teams.  We had a table setting team, a corn bread team, a cranberry sauce team and a butter team.  Each team had 5 helpers, but the butter team.  That team needed every pre schooler to help.  Each group did an amazing job.  The butter team had to shake and shake and shake, while   we were shaking we counted to ten over and over and over again.  We counted in English...we counted in Spanish...and we counted in Chinese.  Abraham speaks Chinese so he lead the way!

December Happenings

Getting Ready for Baby Jesus!

December has been packed with excitement.  We are doing acts of kindness at home and when we come into school in the morning we tell our class and we then put a piece of "straw" into Baby Jesus' Manger.  We are preparing it for His birth.  It is filling up very quickly and we love sharing the nice kind things that we do.  It make us very proud.

We celebrated the Immaculate Conception.  We learned about this special day and we went to church with the whole school.  We had our best church manners and we were complimented by many people.  After church we went over to look at the Advent Wreath.  We like to get an up close look at the candles.  Two purple have been lit and now this Sunday the pink candle will be lit.  The pink one means hope and it is getting close.  We are so excited!

We had an exciting Buddy Day with our 8th grade buddies!  Every other Monday the kids come over to us and we do something fun.  This time they helped us make our "countdown" chain.  This is a paper chain that we tear off a link each day to count down the days to Baby Jesus' Birthday.  When we get to the top He is here!  We are very excited and doing it with the big kids was a lot of fun.  They are all very nice to us  and they brought over a Christmas necklace for us and a bookmark.  We love them and have a great time iwth them.  We cannot wait for our next get together...we wonder what we are going to do?  Mrs. Bobillo always makes a great plan!

What is a dittie?

Notre Dame School uses the Open Court Phonics Program.  Pre-school is where it is introduced.  Each letter has a "dittie" that helps the children learn it's sound.  When the students leave pre-school to go to kindergarten they have mastered each "dittie" and can write each letter by name, capital and lower case.

We welcome visitors to our classroom.  Please contact the main office to schedule a time.

If you have any questions about our Pre-School please email Mrs. Bobillo at kbobillo@notredameparish.net.
