                It's time to leave the nest!

1. My teaching goal is to help the children in my class develop as lifelong learners.

2. Building a safe and caring environment, in which both the children and teacher understand that risk taking and approximating are essential for growth in learning.

3. Kindergartners are expected to work and to play cooperatively.

4. The children will share and take turns.

5. Kindergartners will know the letters and the sounds of the alphabet.

6. All students will be either emergent, transitional, or fluent readers.

7. Children will recognize numbers l-100, and be able to complete simple addition and subtraction problems.

Here's what's happening in Kindergarten:

Our Traditions


1.   LaPorte Symphony

2.  travel as the pilgrims did.  We compare and contrast life now and then.

3. 100 day of kindergarten-we celebrate everything 100 all day


long, even the cake!

4. Celebrating Dr. Seuss day with the third graders.

5. St. Patrick's Day- After Mass, we watch


  movies about the life of St. Patrick and a grumpy leprechaun.

6. Lent- Easter plant, We color a petal every time we pray or do a random act of kindness.

7. Hoosier Scholars-  at the end of kindergarten we are all Hoosier scholars.     

8. Reading the rhyming Bible.
